Following the Government of New Brunswick's announcement on May 9, 2020, the official directive to regulated health care professionals, including social workers, was altered allowing social workers in private practice to resume in-person practice, provided the social worker follows public health directives outlined in the Government of New Brunswick’s Recovery Phase Guidance Document.

In response to this new directive, the NBASW has prepared a Letter of Guidance on COVID-19 Operational Plan Development for Private Practitioners.

As part of the new Public Health requirements, private practitioners may want to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to their employees and/or clients. To find more information on PPE and other health resources, you can visit the GNB webpage on the subject here. The NBASW has compiled the following list of PPE resources locally for members. As we receive new resources, we will add them to this page.

General PPE Resources

Members who are searching for smaller quantities of PPE, including items such as disposable or reusable masks, thermometers, etc., may be able to find them through local or online retailers including Walmart, Well.ca, Canadian Tire, Covey Basics, and more. We recommend reaching out to these retailers individually to see if they have these items.
