Following a determination that the Respondent was guilty of professional misconduct, the Discipline Committee imposed the following discipline sanctions:

By Voluntary Submission, the Member acknowledged that she did not maintain the integrity and the reputation of the profession by sending inappropriate Facebook Messages to the Complainant. The Member admitted engaging in name-calling and sending offensive messages to the Complainant.The Member also acknowledged that her conduct constitutes professional misconduct: 

A Hearing of the Discipline Committee of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers was held on June 10, 2025, to hear and determine a Complaint against a Member alleging professional misconduct. Specifically, the Member sent inappropriate Facebook Messages to the Complainant.

1. Written reprimand to be placed in the Respondent’s file for an unlimited period of time;
2. Payment of a fine of $2,000.00;
3. Payment of cost of $500.00;
4. To complete and bear the cost of a course in the form of continuing education as determined by the Registrar; and
5. Summary and publication of the proceeding without names for the education of the membership.
