Discipline Committee Notice: June 18, 2025
A meeting of the Discipline Committee of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers was held on June 18, 2025, to determine a complaint against a member.
Specifically, the member was alleged of failing to comply with workplace standards and directives related to record keeping and documentation.
The member voluntarily admitted that she had committed professional misconduct:

The member voluntarily admitted that she had committed professional misconduct:
- She admitted that she had failed to meet her ethical obligations.
- She admitted that she had failed to comply with workplace standards and directives related to record keeping and documentation.
- She acknowledged that social workers are accountable to their clients and to the organization for maintaining their files.
- She agreed that disciplinary sanctions were appropriate.
Following a determination that the member was guilty of professional misconduct, the Discipline Committee imposed the following disciplinary sanctions:
- payment of a fine of $500.00;
- completion of a professional development assignment on documentation as determined by the Registrar;
- a written reprimand to be placed in the member’s personnel file for a period of five years; and
- the publication of a summary of the proceeding without names for the education of members.
