ELIGIBILITY

Applicants with a social work degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) in the United States are eligible to apply for social work registration.

Please note that, to be eligible for NBASW registration, applicants must be Canadian residents or entitled to be residents of Canada. Applicants who have received or who expected to receive a job offer in New Brunswick are encouraged to contact the NBASW.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants with a Diplôme d’État français d’assistant de service social (DEASS) are eligible to apply for social work registration.

Please refer to the “All Other Programs” section if you completed a degree in France that does not qualify for the DEASS.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants who hold one of the following social work degrees from Switzerland are eligible to apply for social work registration:

• Bachelor of Arts en travail social — orientation service social de la Haute école spécialisée de Suisse occidentale (HES-SO);
• Bachelor of Arts in Studienrichtung Sozialarbeit de la Haute école spécialisée de Lucerne (HSLU);
• Bachelor of Science in Sozialer Arbeit de la Haute école spécialisée bernoise (BFH);
• Bachelor of Arts in Sozialer Arbeit für die Berufsfelder Sozialpädagogik und Sozialarbeit de la Haute école spécialisée du nord-ouest de la Suisse (FHNW);
• Bachelor of Science in Sozialer Arbeit mit Studienrichtung Sozialarbeit de l’Université des sciences appliquées de Suisse orientale (OST);
• Bachelor of Science in Sozialer Arbeit de la Haute école spécialisée zurichoise (ZFH);
• Bachelor of Science in Lavoro sociale opzione servizio sociale de la Haute école spécialisée de la Suisse italienne (SUPSI)

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants who have received an international social work education from a program not listed above and who are not currently registered with another Canadian social work regulatory body are required to:

• Apply for the assessment of international credentials through the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW).

NEXT STEPS

• Applicants who have been granted equivalency to a Canadian Bachelor or Master of Social Work by the CASW are eligible to proceed with their application for registration as a social worker.
• Applicants who have not been granted equivalency by the CASW may still be eligible for registration with the NBASW through the Foreign Qualification Recognition (FQR) Program.
