A meeting of the Discipline Committee of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers was held on February 24, 2025, to determine a complaint against a member.

More specifically, the member is accused of having failed to comply with the standards and directives of his employer in maintaining certain files. By voluntary submission, the member voluntarily admitted professional misconduct and agreed that disciplinary sanctions were appropriate.

Having determined that the member was guilty of professional misconduct, the Discipline Committee imposed the following disciplinary sanctions:

a) a fine of $500.00;
b) a continuing education assignment on documentation to be completed;
c) a written reprimand to be placed in the member’s personnel file for a period of 5 years; and
d) publication of a summary of the proceeding without names for the education of membership.
